Dachstein West is not one of Austria's best known resorts which means it has some of the best package prices on offer and some amazing un-spoilt scenery. The ski village of Gosau is charming and friendly and the surrounding slopes are wooded with relatively flat trails. The area is very popular during the summer for its stunning scenery and winter is no different.
If you are sensible you will take every opportunity to spend some time sitting at a piste side ski hut, from where you can fill your boots with traditional mountain food, typical of the region.
