Why is Panorama Resort a good ski resort for school groups?

Panorama Mountain Ski Resort is located in south eastern part of British Columbia, in the powder blessed Canadian Rockies. Attracting long haul school ski groups for many years now, the resort has a reputation for dependable powder, plenty of good skiing for beginners and a great level of customer service.

The resort was purchased in the last few years by a group of local people, who are keen to give guests the best possible experience to keep them returning year after year. As well as the skiing, you'll get the chance to go tobogganing, dog sledding and the quintessential Canadian experience - snow-shoeing.

Getting to Panorama Mountain
School ski groups wishing to visit Panorama will fly into the city of Calgary, then transfer up into the Rocky Mountains in a time of around 4 hours. The journey is spectacular!

For beginners
Here at Panorama they split their mountain into two distinct areas. The lower section of the Panorama ski resort is ideal for school groups, and beginners in particular, with good wide and gentle green and blue runs, serviced by moving carpets. Chair lifts take you higher up the mountain to the preserve of more advanced skiers.

Panorama receives a good five meters of snowfall each season and it's not just any old snow either. This part of the world claims to have the best snow in the world. Climatic conditions mean the snow is very dry and powdery, known locally as champagne powder and a delight to ski on.

Night skiing operates until 9pm at weekends on one of the gentle slopes near the resort village. It is great fun and well worth giving your school group a late night to experience skiing under artificial lights.

Panorama Mountain accommodation
At the base of the mountain, the resort offers lots of cosy accommodation options, including ski in ski out - perfect for school groups as it means you spend less time lugging 30 bits of kits to and from resort each morning and afternoon.
