Rather than an actual resort, Salzburger Sportwelt is an area making up a good chunk of the Ski Amade region of Austria. An outstanding area for winter sports, the Sportwelt includes 8 world class ski resorts, around 150 marked ski runs and over 250 ski lifts. A couple of the resorts that make up this area we already cover in more detail detail here on ski school trips. For party leaders looking for a great place to take their school skiing group trip, Salzburger Sportwelt really does have everything you could wish for, and then some!
Getting to Salzburger Sportwelt
While Salzburg is the main transport hub, your ski group operator may offer some alternative airports as there are a few within comfortable transfer distance of the ski resorts that make up Salzburger Sportwelt.
For beginners
Our pick of the area for beginners, aside from Alpendorf which we have already covered as a separate resort, would be Altenmarkt-Zauchensee. Zauchensee in particular has higher altitude skiing with lots of ski in ski out accommodation just perfect for schools. All the resorts in the Salzburger Sportwelt have good provision for absolute beginners, with gentle nursery areas and easy access to more than 60 blue runs for students to cut their teeth on once they have found their balance.
Alpendorf accommodation
School groups are usually accommodated in traditional guesthouses or hotels, which offer a mix of great location, and the space to provide a good range of evening entertainment.
